Workplace Skills
The Australian Museum project is the practical application of the Certificate II in Workplace Skills, undertaken by all Year 11 students at Bradfield Senior College.
Delivered through our unique Friday project model and supported by a weekly two-hour lesson, the program offers a variety of practical, collaborative experiences. It also includes a 35-hour mandatory work placement, giving students the opportunity to apply the interpersonal and employability skills they’ve developed in real-world settings.
By the end of the course, students not only earn a nationally recognised qualification but also gain valuable workplace experience, confidence, and the tools to explore future career and study pathways. They’re equipped to seek employment, prepare professional documentation, and navigate the world beyond school.
While achieving the HSC remains our priority, we also believe in preparing students for life after school. Through this program, students learn about:
- Education, training, and work pathways
- Job-seeking strategies
- Workplace communication and conflict resolution
- Resume writing and interview preparation
The project is an award-winning educational experience. In 2024 Bradfield was awarded a national award by TAFE directors Australia: The Heart of Inclusion award in Innovative Teaching.
Bradfield teachers won the TAFE NSW Teaching Team of the Year award in 2023. In 2025, Bradfield is a finalist in the Australian Training awards School Pathways to VET category to be announced in December. Bradfield is also nominated for the NSW Premier’s award for delivering world class education and training.
