Art Express Nomination - Elodie Dubuisson

Congratulations to our recent graduate Elodie Dubuisson, whose painting series ‘Three Places of Prayer’ has been nominated for Art Express.

Elodie describes her body of work: “I will create three paintings all using oil paints, Aiming to stick to the Renaissance art theme. My idea is to show beauty throughout my art. My artwork will be of Notre Dame, St Peter’s Basilica and the De la Santa Creu. With each cathedral representing different things, the Notre Dame represents the spirit of Paris and its beauty. The basilica of St Peter’s and the Cathedral De la Santa Creu are a representation of the cross, the crucifixion of Jesus, and his resurrection. Filled with symbolism of saints, angels, and heaven, all of which stand for the glory of God.

"Cathedrals convey beauty and a sense of awe through their majestic architecture and holy artwork which I want to symbolise through capturing the meaning and beauty of the tall detailed pillars, the glass stained windows, as well as focus on showing the small details, structures, and colour palettes within the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Basilica and the Santa Creu.”

Elodie studied Visual Arts alongside the Certificate III in Visual Arts, Design Fundamentals and Design and Technology. Her long and patient efforts in the detailing of her body of work made her a mainstay in the Bradfield studios throughout this year, and it’s great to see her recognised with this nomination.

Bradfield consistently hosts one of the largest Visual Arts cohorts in NSW. We still have places available for 2025 year 11. Join us for our next Open Day on Dec 3.
