Business and Legal Studies are the core of our faculty and offer students a broad knowledge that can be transferred into any industry. Health and Movement Science, Community and Family Studies and Society and Culture are also popular HSC subjects. For our vocational courses you can choose Retail, Tourism and Events and Hospitality to start your career in these important industries.
Social sciences are consistently the most popular electives in the HSC, offering you an understanding of how society and industry work in the real world.
In Business Studies you will look at the structures in which businesses operate, and how and why businesses succeed and fail. Community and Family Studies (CAFS) will encourage you to become a proactive member of society by revealing the diversity and interdependence of families, government and communities in Australian society.
Geography will provide you with an understanding of the human and physical environment that we occupy, exploring the complex interactions within them. In Legal Studies, you will explore the justice system on such different scales as criminal law enforcement, domestic family law and international law.
Health and Movement Science explores topics related to physical activity, health, and emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing. Society and Culture will shed light on the basic social assumptions we no longer see. How do groups, families, schools and communities create social structures, and what values could these reflect going forward?
Workplace Skills is a course you will undertake alongside the annual Project, providing you with a foundation for the reality of life in the workforce.
