Bradfield College may be right for you if:
All you need is a strong interest in one of our vocational courses and the desire to succeed.
Bradfield Senior College is a good place to be because you can complete your HSC and explore career options. All students are expected to adhere to the College Cultural principles.
The college offers a wide range of general and vocational HSC and TAFE certificate courses. Depending upon the courses you select you could also be eligible for a Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). See our HSC page.
Students can select a learning pathway that leads to the HSC, TAFE certificates and employment possibilities over a period of between 2-5 years. For those courses not currently on offer at Bradfield, students may be able to gain study access via OTEN, The Sydney Distance Education High School, Open High School or other TAFE campuses.
To qualify for the HSC students must meet the requirements of the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES). This means students must complete twelve units of study in the preliminary year and ten units in the HSC Year. At least six units in each year must come from Board Developed courses, including two units of English.
Further information can be found at www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au.
These courses are set and externally examined by BOSTES. They also can contribute to the calculation of a Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
The ATAR is calculated solely for use by some tertiary institutions, either on its own or in conjunction with other selection criteria, to rank and select school leavers for admission. In order to obtain an ATAR a student must satisfactorily complete at least ten units of courses that are eligible for inclusion in the ATAR calculation.
Further information can be found at www.uac.edu.au.
Yes, depending on the courses you choose to study. You must complete at least ten units of Board Developed courses in both the preliminary and HSC years to be eligible for an ATAR.
All courses that are eligible for inclusion in the ATAR calculation are classified as either Category A or Category B.
There is a limit of no more than two units from any Category B course that can count towards a student’s ATAR calculation. This limit does not apply to Category A courses.
BOSTES requires all students to complete the All My Own Work program. While the college delivers the required modules it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the modules have been completed before the Board’s required date.
The college can prepare you to enter employment, take on further studies at TAFE or go to University.
