Friday Focus: Beauty and Moving Image

Last friday, Communications looked into the working progress of Beauty and Moving Image and interviewed members on what they were working on. This is what we captured.
Beauty
Beauty has been collecting materials produced by visual arts regarding the different variety of clowns to create a makeup look which would fit the type of clown on display. The art inspiring the group ranged from different styles and variations of clowns such as jesters, emo clowns, mimes, dancers, ringmasters and dolls. Beauty then gathered a group of volunteers to style their makeup according to the type of clown they were focussed on.

Moving Image
Moving Image moved into the theatre to demonstrate their developed screening techniques to make an accurate simulation of the Big Dipper in action. To create this effect, the group used projections, camera lenses, alternating lighting and staging to create an immersive depiction of the fast, shaky and adrenaline-inducing roller coaster.

Summary
Beauty and Moving Image’s creativity has been effectively displayed to Bradfield as the groups work hard to produce their materials for the Luna Park Smile 2025 event, opening at Bradfield June 5th to the public to be enjoyed. Tickets for SMILE can be booked here.
