Luna Park Weekly

This is the weekly blog of the BSC Luna Park Project, run by the Communications team. These in-depth articles are written by the Comms team as part of their Certificate II in Workplace Skills.
Art
The Art group are hard at making jaw-dropping Artworks depicting Luna Park over the decades, from the 1930s to the 1980s and beyond. Determining the colourpalette of each decade by usingtheir stimulus and a sea of archivalphotos, inspiring students tocreate their breathtaking artworks. The artwork is a mix of charcoal, traditional pencils, and paint, creating an illusion of a differentperiod. As of today, there are forces today to architect and ride. However, their overall goal is a mirror to show the past, present and future of Luna Park and to truly capture its wonders.
Animation
The animation team, with the help of Chris, Felicity and Wendy, is using a blend of 3-D and 2-D animation to create two films. A 2-D film depicting Coney Island, and a 3-D film on the Big Dipper. However, the mostintriguing part is trying to bringtogether all the different types ofstyles of each student. So far theyhave made several clowns andjesters, some of which aredistinguished characters andothers are brand new from thestudents' minds, as well as severalanimals to go with the circustheme. Despite all the different styles, they’re all trying to be faithful to the style of Arthur Barton (the original artist for Coney Island) to create a story closely linked with Luna Park's heritage.
Drama
The drama group has two outcomes they want to meet. Firstly, they have some very active, playful street performances with clowns and showgirls to interact with the general public. Secondly they have a verbatim radio playup and running. For those who may be confused, a verbatim play uses the words of people in recordings and videos, so all the ideas are taken from interviews. However, the overall plan is to have three sections, section one the opening of Luna Park bright and colourful, section two will be depicting a fire and it will be mostly silent to change the tone created in section one, finally section three will be the Luna Parkas we know it today, full of this life and constantly adapting.
Fashion
The fashion group have been working tirelessly to bring their designs to life. Using the inspiration from the costumes at Luna Park and design concepts online, students have created a mood board of all the different ideas, as well as drawing and finalising their own designs, and starting on their pieces. And let’s just say already they have managed to design some beautiful pieces of clothing.
Music
The music group are developing songs that are heavily influenced by the emotions evoked by the rides at Luna Park. Their music consists of a mix of instruments, including but not limited to, electric guitar, bass, drums, vocals and keyboard. One of the songs featured is heavily inspired by the ride the Big Dipper, and is titled by the same name, which is very fast paced, and up-and-down to replicate the feelings of being on the roller coaster.
