Group Focus: Moving Image

Communications focused their research into ‘Moving Image’ and followed their group for a day, this is the recorded progress which Moving Image has made.
10 - 10:30
Moving image began the day by looking at a series of videos of Luna Park rides, including the Big Dipper and the ferris wheel. They then split off into groups to brainstorm ways that they could bring the rides to life for the Smile Project. They discussed possibilities of experimenting with animations, points of view, and different shooting techniques.
11:00 - 12:00
Moving image then progressed to the theatre to study the Luna Park themed dance performances as well as the Drama Team's clown acts to investigate how they could insert those performances into their film using different photographic techniques. Moving image then photographed different clowns and characters to keep a record of their character’s personality to study.
12.00 - 12.45
Lastly, Moving Image visited the photography studio and used lighting such as Key lights, Gel lights and green screens to create and photograph effects such as silhouettes of the photo subjects, warped photos and dream-like lens shots to suit the theme of Luna Park and its dreamlike location.
